TANAH LOT TEMPLE
This ancient temple situated next to the sea is very scenic. The views of the sea is just so calming... At the bottom of the cliff you see in the photo on the left, there is a holy shrine where locals go to get blessings by the priests. The priests would shower the devotee with the 'holy water'. This temple by the sea is only acessible by foot only during low-tide periods.
At the enterance of this tourist spot, there are rows and rows of shops. Most of them are selling local products like the Bintang Beer singlet, local t-shirts, slippers etc. While there are also big name brands like Polo Ralph Lauren, Rip Curl etc.
There's a cliff facing this temple and there are cafes there serving up local fare. The view of sun set from the cliff is said to be stunning.
ULUN DANU TEMPLE
This is the landmark of Bali and it is featured on the back of the IDR 50,000 note & the 'Go VISA' commercial. The temple is situated by a lake. The suroundings are tranquil. If you are lucky, you may be able to witness a religious procession at the temple which only takes place on certain holy days.
SARANAM ECO RESORT
Jln. Raya Baturiti, Br. Pancung,
Bs Baturiti, Kec. Baturiti,
Tabanan 82191
This place is situated on higher ground and the weather is cooler. It is actually a hotel. If you do not wish to stay here, you may just drop by to get in touch with nautre. There are nice views of the mountains, padi fields, vegetable patches and fruit trees.
It is highly recommended if you want to get away from the crowds, be close with nature and relax in a quiet environment. After sun set, everything comes to a stand still. Do not worry, the hotel coffee-house is still operating 24/7. You could just sit by the veranda, read a book and listen to the mountain stream flowing and frogs croaking. It's really relaxing...
KINTAMANI
This is another photo taking vantage point. There are many cafes and restaurants here where you could chill out and have a light moment while enjoying the cool breeze.

Shopping:
KUTA SQUARE
This is Kuta's main shopping district where the botiques are. Major surf brands such as Quicksilver,Billabong, Rip Curl, Stussy etc, major sports brands like Nike, Addias have set up botiques. There's also Levis & Polo Ralph Lauren. Models of certain Levis jeans are cheaper here as they are made in Indonesia. I got one 512 jeans for about SGD55! Polo Ralph Lauren is also generally cheaper. A plain polo-tee costs about SGD 25.00 - 30.00. They are all ORIGINALS, do not worry.
There are also many other small stalls along the streets selling beaded necklaces, slippers, scented soap bars etc. You can spend the whole afternoon here. Matahari, Indonesia's local departmental store giant, which bought over our Robinsons Group here a few years ago, has a store here too.
FACTORY OUTLETS
Just a point to take note. Many stores in town flash the sign 'Factory Outlet'. However, they are not the real deal. The real factory outlets are slightly out of town, just nearby the airport. How low can prices go at factory outlets? For example, I got a Quicksilver polo-tee for SGD 9.00, Billabong tee for SGD 15, Billabong polo-tee for SGD 25.00. These factory outlets accept major credit cards. So not to worry. I always run out of cash here as I always cannot resist a great deal.
DISCOVERY SHOPPING MALL
This is touted as the largest mall in Bali. There's a Sogo departmental store, BreadTalk, Roti Boy, TopShop/TopMan etc here in the mall.
KUTA BEACH
The most popular beach in Bali. But, it's very crowded. Surfers can spend the whole day in the waters!

WARUNG LAOTA (老大)
Hong Kong Porridge & Seafood Steam Specialist

Jl. Raya Kuta
No. 530, Tuban, Bali
Tel: 0361 7429068
Here are the recommended dishes:
Roasted duck (Behasa Indonesia: Bebek Panggang)!
Damage: IDR 136,000 (SGD 20.20) for half a duck which serves 5.
The following is a seafood dish. In Behasa Indonesia it's Ikan Gurami Goreng Tahu Tausi. Which is fried fish with femented black bean sauce.
Damage: IDR 95,250 (SGD 14.20) which serves 5.
When I think of Laota, I think of the sliced fish porridge in the photo below. When I was first introduced to this restaurant. I was told that the signature dish is its sliced fish porridge (Behasa Indonesia: Bubur Daging Ikan Kerapu), I was thinking, "What is so special?" Once you've tasted, you'll know what is so special.
The porridge is so smooth... Nothing here in Singapore can come close. I have recommended some friends and relatives as a must-visit restaurant and they all sang praises of this dish. This dish goes so well with Dough Fritters (中文: 油条, Behasa Indonesia: Cakoe). And now for the damage - Sliced Fish Porridge: IDR 24,500/bowl (SGD 3.60) Dough Fritters: IDR 4,900/stick (SGD 0.75)
KEDAI TIGA NONYA
Jl. Pantai Kuta No. 8-9,
Komplek Kuta Suci Arcade
Kuta, Bali
Tel: 0361 767218/767219
This is a very nicely decorated Peranakan restaurant which is worth a visit. Their prices are also rather affordable.
Fried Noodles with Chili (Behasa Indonesia: Bakmi Belacan)
Damage: IDR 25,500 (SGD 3.80)
And these are an assortment of dishes that are yummy too and they are:
Yellow Rice (Behasa Indonesa: Nasi Kuning) - IDR 6,000/plate (SGD 0.90)
Baby Kailan - IDR 22,500 (SGD 3.35)
Squid with Sambal (Behasa Indonesia: Tumis Cumi Ala Nonya) - IRD 30,000 (SGD 4.50)
Beef Rendang - IDR 35,000 (SGD 5.20)
Assam Soup (Behasa Indonesia: Kepala Kakap Assam Manis) - IDR 50,000 (SGD 7.50)
CLUB SEAFOOD - JIMBARAN BEACH CAFE
Jln. Pemelisan Agung Jimbaran
Kuta - Denpasar - Bali
Tel: 0361 703033
Mobile: 081 238 266 97
When coming here, you need to get a vehicle from the hotel or car rental outlet. This is near the airport. However, you must take note of the following point:
There are 2 strecthes of Jimbaran Beach. One stretch houses the upmarket restaurants while the above address houses the more affordable seafood restaurants. Do dress-down for this venue as you'll be dinning on the sandy beach. AND, the sunset here is beautiful!
The meal in the photos below serves about 6 persons and cost IDR 374,000(SGD 55.60). Dishes include 1.1kg of BBQ Fish, 1 kg of mussels, 1 kg of squid and 0.5kg of big prawns and with rice & soft drinks included.
And that's all for my post on Bali. Generally, this place is good for a winding down session. Not to mention the massage here is cheap.
1 hour of full body massage with 1 hour of milk bath+chocolate body scrub costs only IDR 180,000 (SGD 27). A normal 1 hour full body massage would cost IDR 100,000 (SGD 14.90).
Alright, in conclusion, it's a place worth visiting to destress from the hectic worklife!
